Every month here at RR we will be interviewing fashion leaders on all the best bits about this amazing industry plus their handbag essentials, obviously! each feature will give you a sneak peek into the lives of these successful fashion bloggers and what they’ve learnt on their journey so far.
This month’s guest blogger is the beautiful Amy Neville. as the current face of the RR brand, who better to share their experience than this esteemed model and blogger? you will recognise amy from our recent look books and some of our best styling styles. so let’s find out more about the girl behind the blog amynevfashiondiaries.com!
1.Who is your favourite style icon?
I would say chiara ferragni or millie mackintosh, I love their effortless, boho styles.
2.What would you say that is the greatest satisfaction of being a fashion blogger?
The fact that every day I get to share my love for fashion is just one of the many reasons I love blogging. I have always had a huge love for clothes going all the way back to my first day I started school! I always remember my mum saying to me ‘Amy, school isn’t a fashion parade’ I remember just smiling back at her and continuing to adapt my school uniform just to be unique. being able to share this all through social media is just a dream. I have always been the model that would be buying half the clothes from the brand I was shooting in, this is one of the reasons I decided to start the ‘fashion diaries’. All of my wages would be going on the latest trends.
3.Knowing what you know now, what would you tell your 13 year old self?
I believe confidence is key to anything in life, I only started to believe in myself just a few years ago, I do look back and think all the years I could have done so much more with my career if only I had self-confidence. It does come with age, but remember you have to believe in yourself before anyone else can. being a model/blogger it is all about selling yourself constantly so I had no choice but to appear confident to get to where I wanted to be.
4.What’s in your handbag right now?
The ‘Mary Poppins’ bag you mean… well I always carry my few -make-up essentials with me- Laura mercier secret camouflage, Armani mascara and Carmex! my super cute YSL card holder which I got just last week, I never carry cash.. who does these days.. and my big bunch of keys which I constantly lose, I can’t tell you the amount of times I have been locked out of my flat.
5.describe your home..
I live by myself in an amazing two bed flat, I have the ‘master bedroom’ as my dressing room (yes I have too many clothes) when I first moved in i tried to fit it all in the second room but it didn’t work so I now have the master bedroom as my office/dressing room. I have a big open/plan kitchen for entertaining.. the Christmas dinner party invites are going out soon.. p.s i can’t cook so its all champers and pizza!
6.How long does it take you to decide what to wear?
It depends where I am going, events are the worst I always find it so hard to decide on an outfit! on a daily basis though you will usually find me in ripped boyfriend jeans/ leather pants styled with sneakers ( I have a cupboard full of super cool high tops) I do much prefer to dress casual when I do wear dresses though they are obviously from RR
7.What’s the biggest shopping mistake you’ve ever made?
I am the biggest impulse shopper I think you will ever meet, I never think ‘do I need this’.. it’s simple as… I like it, I buy it. I hate to admit it but I am a salesperson’s dream. I once bought an expensive handbag in a sale then decided two hours later I didn’t want it anymore only to find out it was non-refundable! this was not a good shopping experience, especially when I had found something else I wanted so much more! perhaps a sign I should hold off on my ‘impulse shopping’.
8.Describe yourself in 3 words
Chatty, positive and generous
9: Who’s your celebrity crush
Leonardo Dicaprio or Jude Law
10:What’s your favourite thing about RR
The prints! I am huge fan of colour and prints and RR gets this so right! the designs are always so unique and work perfectly on the maxi dresses which are my faves! I wore one to the bafta’s last year and I don’t think I have ever been stopped so much to be asked about a dress! I love the fact that you won’t see every girl wearing it too. p.s rebecca is amazing too I just love her, she is very talented and I am so happy to have shot the last 3 collections.. hopefully many more to come.
11.What’s your best fashion tip for our customers
When I shop I always like to buy something that is ‘statement’ you can’t go wrong with statement pieces with RR. Every piece is a dress you will turn heads in! what gal doesn’t want that.
lots of love
